Nick Moon Arena XC Training - Finchingfield 16th February
Our members had a great time in the fabulous arena at Finchingfield Equestrian Centre and benefitted from some valuable instruction from Nick Moon.  They learned about XC technique and were able to practice over the many obstacles in the arena.   Many thanks to Anna Moss who took these lovely pictures for use on our website.

2012 DRESSAGE SHOW at Brook Farm 29th January 2012.

We enjoyed a fabulous day at Brook Farm on a cold but dry and sometimes sunny day.  The facilities there are excellent with covered warm up, indoor arena & warm cafe - very welcome on a cold day!  Our judges, Rachel Kellett and Mal Phillips remarked upon how good the standard was and it was so good to see so many of you having a go.  Well done to Ellie Anning who won class 1B with Bunty Pipe in second place and to Charlotte Cooke who won 1A, the lead rein section.  Louisa Kenney won a large class in the Introductory 2007 closely followed by Charlotte Pegrum with Jack.  The Novice Dengie qualifier was won by Holly Golding from the East Kent branch, with Rosie Bates from Essex Union 2nd and Jack Cooke from EHNPC on Some Might Say 3rd qualiying for the area finals.  The Open Dengie was won by Megan Page from the Essex Farmers, and Sophie Bryan from EHNPC was 2nd and joint 3rd with Lara Segal from Essex Union on Rustic Knights Charm who used to be an EHNPC pony!  Our thanks to all of our volunteers from the committee, Nicola, Pud, Caroline and Norman who helped to make this a very successful day.  Thanks also to Jackie from Brook Farm for making the venue so hospitable and welcoming.

TETRATHLON - 15th/16th July
A huge thank you to Sharon Caton for organising our Tetrathlon which was held at Aythorpe Roding.  The shooting phase was at Cross Leys Farm on Friday night and all the other phases were on Saturday.  Sadly the weather did not hold off and we all got a good soaking in the morning but the sun came out in the afternoon in time for the running and prizegiving.  The xc course proved quite challenging for a lot of the ponies, although the driving rain could have had something to do with it too.  Well done to the competitors for some determined riding.  Our thanks also go to Nicola and Andrew Stevenson for their hard work in preparing the venue, to Norman for building our courses, to the Radbourne family for the use of their pool, and to Rachel Hills for running the swimming, to the Parris family for the use of their farm for the shooting and to John Kenney for running the shooting, to Lotte and Caroline for scoring and to everyone else who helped and of course to all of you who came along and competed.   We hope you had a good time and soon dried out!  Click HERE for the full results

Easter Rally 13th April

We had our first rally at Berwick for 2011 which was for our senior members.  A morning of flatwork was followed by a demonstration of dressage including a dressage to music test by instructor, Katie Dartnell on River which was well received.  Katie demonstrated the various types of walk trot and canter and showed some more advanced movements such as half pass and flying changes.  Many thanks to Katie and River's owner, Ani, for making this possible.  In the afternoon, everyone had instruction on the cross country course which we managed to fit in just before it rained.
